Add checkboxes for inks?

Hi, I’m wondering if there’s a way to add checkboxes within the ink information page for ourselves? When I get a new ink, I do 4 types of tests and I create a sample for a friend. Right now I’m mentally categorizing “made a swatch card” and “chromatography” as Swabbed, and “lightfastness test” and “drew a slug” as Used, so i hit each of those checkboxes only if both tests within it are finished, but it’s a bit hard to keep track of. And as for making samples for my friend, I’m just counting on my memory. But as I add inks, it’s getting harder to keep track.
To be clear: I’m really thrilled with Fountain Pen Companion overall! But still learning how to use it.
How do you guys use the features when your own tests don’t quite line up exactly with the fpc’s built in options?

Hi Laura,

there aren’t any additional checkboxes and/or field planned at this point. I’ve had various requests in the past so at some point I’ll probably have to have some feature where everyone can add whatever fields or checkboxes that they want to.

For now, the only thing you can use are the tags or the two comment fields (there’s a private and a public one).

Thanks, ujh. It sounds like i need to learn more about tags and comments, maybe they are actually what I’m looking for. Can i sort by either? Can i search for inks that don’t have a particular tag or comment (Such as “chromatography”, so i can see which ones i haven’t done yet)?
I really appreciate your help. I suspect adequate functionality already exists for what i want (i mean, my workaround does mostly work), i just need to find it. Every feature I’ve asked about so far is already there, once i recognized it.
Best wishes,
Laura

Hi Laura,

you can sort by all fields (you can also hide/show all fields if you’re not interested in some). Search for something already works, but searching for things without a tag or text isn’t there, yet. The whole search is a bit basic at this point (just one input field for text), but that’s something I want to tackle at some point. So, it’s not all there, but maybe these things can help and make it at least a bit easier than having to remember it all.
