Ha ha. Nice! I never got past the first Dune novel. Some day I’ll have to try reading more of them.
I got bogged down in the second novel but I heard that the saga past the 1st book is also very interesting and cleverly written. I read much-much less since I moved to the Netherlands and I don’t spend 1-2 hours every day using public transport
Oh yeah, I started the second book as well but never finished it. But that was years ago and maybe I’ll give it a go at some point (that and Asimov’s Foundation).
Hi! First time posting in the forums. Today I’m using a Lamy Safari Candy Edition Violet with an M nib, inked with Lamy Blue. Sorry about the shadows, I didn’t take a picture earlier. Nice to meet you!
Hi Alex, it’s great to have you here I like your violet Lamy, looks quite pretty. Maybe it’s just your nice handwriting but the nib seems to be somewhat stubby
Thanks @petrisz there’s something about the nib, I wouldn’t say it’s stubby, but depending on the angle and speed it let’s out more or less ink, which I had only experienced before in my Architect ground EF vintage Esterbrook SJ. None of my other pens does something like this. It’s very smooth regardless of that, so I like using it with more textured paper, otherwise feels a bit strange to me (butter on glass). Thanks for the compliment on my handwriting, I’ve been trying to improve for the last year!
No to spam you, but today I’m using my favorite pen in my collection: a Sailor 1911S Promenade with an H-M nib, paired with Sailor Shikiori Souten ink. The pen is really comfortable, gives great feedback without being scratchy, and doesn’t skip. It also has been inked for 6 weeks without hard starts or drying out; the converter still holds most of the ink.
Lamy 2k F with Monblanc Lavender Purple and Lamy 2k EF with Diamine Dark Forest.
Hi Peter, it’s great to see you here. Lamy 2k is a great model, I love mine. Do you have the Makrolon, the Stainless Steel, the Black Amber or the Blue Bauhaus one? Or are you the one who bought the single Red set at the charity auction in 2013? All the best, Peter
I only have Makrolons. I have thought about the Blue Bauhaus but I want to see it in person.
Very nice @ExcaliburZ! The Lamy 2000 (probably with a BB nib) is one of the few pens that is still on my “to buy” list.
I shouldn’t have… But I’ve done it anyway… I set an alert, put all my data into a text file so that I can copy&paste them super fast, and snatched this up literally the minute it became available.
Today I’m using my new Eboya Kobue MF, inked with Taccia Utamaro Usuzumi ink.
Beautiful sectionless design with the shortest cap possible to hide a #6 Bock nib. The wall of the cap is super thin, something like 1mm, and the pen can be uncapped with just a ~240° turn.
Very nice. What is the “H-M” Nib size? i shouldn’t be asking based upon how many I have but I wasn’t familiar.
Hi Mikey, I read it stands for Hard-Medium. It certainly is a very “stiff” nib, with that famous pencil-like feedback
Thanks for the info. I have a Pro Gear Orange Demo which shows H-F, now I know what it means. Thanks.
Glad to know that you’re still into the “wearing proper clothes” thing @petrisz. Not many people (including me) do that these days, I’d say.
@ujh …and currently I’m trying to save up for a black Pilot Custom Urushi to match my black sweatpants
